Quiet River

On sunny mornings I love going for walks near rivers and lakes. It is a great opportunity to relax, meditate and of course to take photographs.

Pitt Meadows, BC is one of my favorite places because you always find gorgeous views like the one on this image.

There are many photographers in the area that, just like me, love the contact with nature and wildlife. We often exchange photo suggestions and advice.

This image was edited in Photoshop CS5. I applied textures to add a painting effect. Playing with layers is fun and you can add a special touch to your images. Do you like this effect?

Sunset Through Art

Sunset at English Bay in Vancouver Canada

“Sunset Through Art” was taken at English Bay in Vancouver, Canada.

The beginning of spring in Vancouver is a beautiful time of the year. The days are a little warmer and after a cold winter it is nice to go for a walk.

We had been walking around Stanley Park and English Bay. Late in the afternoon I decided to sit for a while to look at the sea and watch the ships and sailboats passing by.

When the sunset began, I noticed the sun peeking behind the trees framed by a sculpture.
“Sunset Through Art” has always been one my favorite photographs. When I took it I didn’t have a DSLR camera with me. I think that it is not the camera but the photographer that makes the pictures. What do you think?
